Starting from scratch, there are just 10 steps:

  2. Sign into your Google account (or get a Gmail address from https://gmail.com/).
  3. Open the Google Developers Console at https://console.developers.google.com/ and create a new project.
  4. Create a new folder on your machine.
  5. Create an app.yaml file in the folder and enter your details, including your project ID it (sample is below).
  6. Create a main.py file in the folder and write some simple Python code (sample is below).
  7. Add your application to the Google App Engine SDK by clicking File => Add Existing Application.
  8. Test your application locally by clicking the "Run" button in the Google App Engine SDK to make sure it's working properly.
  9. Use the "Deploy" button in the Google App Engine SDK to post your application to the Google App Engine servers.
  10. Open a browser window and navigate to your-project-id.appspot.com to see your application running live!
